Application of ProfiBus to Can in Building Control System of a Pharmaceutical Factory in Beijing

This article mainly introduces how to use ProfiBus to Can gateway (product model: PBCAN-K20) produced by Beijing Microhard Innovation Co., Ltd. (hereinafter abbreviated as microhardware innovation) in the building control system:

1. Case Description: This case is a pharmaceutical factory in Beijing. The main control system of the pharmaceutical factory is Siemens PLC S7-300. The building control system equipment is the communication mode of CAN bus, so the communication between CAN equipment and PLC must be realized. . It requires the use of protocol conversion gateways for CAN and ProfiBus. The purpose of this case is to achieve control of the water pump, fan, and central air conditioning equipment of the building control system in the 300 PLC.

2. Case description: ProfiBus to Can gateway PBCAN-K20 of micro hard and innovative production does not require complicated programming. Simply configure and set according to the communication point table of the connected equipment. The following points need to be concerned:

(1) What kind of operating mode of the CAN protocol is communicated with the device CAN?

This product PBCAN-K20 bus bridge supports 4 kinds of CAN bus working methods:

2.0A protocol mode M0, 2.0A protocol mode M1.

2.0B protocol mode M0, 2.0B protocol mode M1.

All CAN devices of this building system can use the CAN 2.0A M1 operating mode, so the PBCAN-K20 operating mode selects CAN 2.0A M1 (set via a dip switch).

(2) What is the communication speed of the connected CAN device?

The CAN device rate for all building systems in this example is set to 100 Kbit/s.

(3) What is the address of the device corresponding to each CAN device?

The device is connected so it can have up to 12 devices, but the site is connected according to each device

The CAN devices are different. Therefore, the connection between the conversion gateway PBCAN-K20 and the central air conditioner is taken as an example.

This communication gateway is connected to 5 central air conditioning systems. The five air conditioners CAN device address points

Don't be 1, 6,7,10,11.

(4) What is the length of data sent and received for each CAN device?

In this example, each air conditioning unit needs to send and receive 8 data. (This conversion gateway can be configured by DLC parameters are 1~8)

4. Case Configuration: Import GSD to Create New Project

(1) Open the step7 software "SIMATIC Manager" file -> New. Enter the name "can air conditioning" Figure 4-1:

(2) Click the confirmation button to create a site. This example selects Siemens PLC300, as shown in Figure 4-2: Double-click on the site to enter the hardware configuration interface.

(7) According to the communication format and parameter contents of the central air-conditioner through CAN communication, configure the communication rate configuration as shown in Figure 4-10:
