SA: Bundled package service to achieve a true win-win situation

Strategy AnalyTIcs' OECD Fixed Broadband Price Benchmarking Service shows that bundled packages have grown steadily over the past few years, and by 2014, the number of bundled packages and individual services was the same. According to the latest update from Strategy AnalyTIcs, 115 of the 128 operators are offering bundled packages.

In order to study the bundled package pricing in more detail and completeness, Strategy AnalyTIcs developed a service specifically for bundled packages - the Teligen Bundle Benchmarking service. Focusing on bundled service pricing, this new service is an extension of the OECD Fixed Broadband Price Benchmarking service.

Operators are driving consumer adoption of bundled packages for a variety of reasons, such as increasing the benefits of multiple services and increasing customer retention/reduction churn. From a consumer perspective, there is usually a significant cost benefit, as there are discounts for selecting multiple services relative to individual services. Another possible benefit is the availability of "extra" services such as call packages, additional TV channels, or additional mobile data traffic due to subscriptions to fixed-line broadband services.

Jóhanna Helgadóttir, Senior Consultant of Teligen, Strategy AnalyTIcs Telecom Research Department, said: "Teligen's new bundled package benchmark service is an extremely important addition to the Teligen tariff research service portfolio. It is also the OECD Fixed Broadband Price Benchmarking Service (OECD Fixed Broadband Price). Benchmarking) An important extension of this service is the response to bundled package service trends and to meet customer demand for high quality, detailed and easy to use price comparison/analysis systems."

Josie Sephton, director of Teligen, Strategy Analytics' telecom tariff research department, added: "The bundled package service is truly a win-win situation. It can help operators reduce customer churn and increase ARPU while saving consumers a lot of money."
