The third dimension Noda is a VR version of the mind map tool

Noda intuitively adds a third dimension to the mind map.

VR games are great, but virtual reality also has great potential for improving productivity. An early example is Noda, a mind mapping tool that supports Vive and Rift.

Mind maps are a visual and spatial relationship between display concepts. Mind maps can help with note taking, learning, project planning, and brainstorming. Traditional mind maps are two-dimensional, but thanks to natural input from Rift and Vive, Noda intuitively adds a third dimension to the mind map.

The Noda pre-release version was on the line as early as the beginning of this year, priced at RMB 36 on SteamVR, $10 for Oculus Home, and RMB 7 for Viveport. The recent update in early June brought a "floating layout" that allows users to easily type text on a virtual keyboard using a stylus-style unique pointer. This floating UI layout also allows you to mark, color, adjust the size of the node, and more.

Users can easily draw lines between nodes, import name lists from TXT and CSV files, and import images such as JPG, PNG or BMP to save and load their mind maps. Although there aren’t many Steam reviews at the moment, all the reviews are very positive. One of the users stated that they use this tool to plan games for Dungeons & Dragons.

Noda is currently the preemptive version, and developers are not yet ready to release the full version unless the "experiment is sufficiently complete and can become an independent and profitable application regardless of what purpose it is ultimately used for."
