Apple released iMac Pro, actually VR Ready!

No longer embarrassed, no longer hide, Apple finally ambitions for the VR platform.

At the WWDC conference today, Apple demonstrated its determination to embrace VR through a number of heavy announcements.

VR Ready Computer

Apple today announced the launch of its first VR Ready computer. The new 27-inch iMac will be the only computer with the AMD Radeon Pro 580 GPU in the new iMac lineup.

Apple will also launch the history of the strongest Mac series in December this year - iMac Pro: up to 18 core processors, up to 128GB ECC memory, up to 16GB of memory, up to 4TB PCIe SSD hard drive, Radeon Vega graphics, Retina 5K screen, 4 Thunderbolt The 3 interface will provide "real-time 3D rendering and immersive, high frame rate VR."

Apple claims to have developed a new cooling system that allows the iMac Pro to keep bass while providing more power.

SteamVR and HTC Vive on Mac OS

Apple's latest Metal 2 graphics API is specifically adjusted for VR. Metal 2 is up to 10 times more efficient than Metal in graphics performance and includes optimized display pipelines for VR.

Unity and Unreal VR SDK support

Apple also announced that both the Unity and Unreal engine VR SDKs will receive Mac support, allowing developers to create VR content on Apple devices.

VR Video Editing in Final Cut Pro X

Apple is updating its professional video editing application Final Cut Pro X to support 360-degree video editing. This means that the main tools for video editing, Final Cut and Adobe's Premiere Pro, now offer 360 video editing capabilities.

All these software updates rely on Apple's new Mac OS "High Sierra." High Sierra is launching a beta version for developers today, conducting beta testing in June, and then offering free upgrades on all systems that support the current "Sierra" version.

ARKit
