According to the analysis, it is only theoretically approved by the Chinese regulatory authorities that the Chinese consortium can complete the acquisition of the OSRAM lighting business as scheduled in FY2017.
OSRAM has a global market and technology leadership position in the automotive lighting sector. Germany's "Spiegel" online pointed out that the sale of its Roundmans will enable OSRAM to divest its lighting business for end customers with 2 billion euros in sales and 125,000 employees.
In view of the agreement to sell, the general lighting business (Ledvance) has been listed as a discontinuous business by Osram. The net income of the discontinuous business in the first quarter was 6 million euros (equivalent to approximately RMB 44.218 million). Osram believes that the Ledvance sale will be completed in FY2017.
