Infineon 80W LCC no secondary feedback constant current dimming LED driver solution

Project Introduction:

This constant current scheme circuit is simple and consists of two parts.

The main circuit does not require secondary current feedback. The ICL5101 is packaged in a 16-pin package with integrated PFC and half-bridge resonant controllers. The LCC topology is used and operates at a fixed frequency for constant current. The PFC section has excellent low THD and high PF performance. Under 100% load, THD can be less than 5%. Under 50% load and 277Vac, THD can be less than 10%. The output voltage range of the LCC part can achieve a range of 25% -100% at constant current, and the full load efficiency of the whole machine can reach up to 93%.

The dimming part is realized by the compact SOT23 6-pin package CDM10V controller and optocoupler, the dimming range can reach 1~100%; compatible with PWM, 0-10V and resistance setting 3 medium dimming signal input (3 1), replacing the MCU with a simple circuit.

Compared with the PFC+Flyback+MCU architecture, the simplicity and high efficiency of this solution makes its cost competitive in smaller power applications (such as 30W).
