Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, a Japanese manufacturer of OLED lighting panel equipment, expects OLED luminous efficiency to reach fluorescent levels in 2010.
Compared to the 100,000 in 2009, the production cost per square meter of OLED panels for lighting applications will reach 10,000 rounds ($87) in 2015. Samsung SDI said that the technology of OLED is not far from commercial, because the luminous efficiency of OLED is currently increasing twice a year. Samsung SDI has developed 50 lumens per watt and has a lifetime of 20,000 hours and a color rendering of over 80.
