Recently, Apple’s somatosensory technology company PrimeSense passed a patent that relates to an optical system, a graphic projector technology that can be embedded in an iOS device to recognize user gestures.
According to foreign media reports, Apple has exposed a new patent. The picture above shows the 3D optical mapping system in the patent. The system includes a graphic projector (18) for generating a graphic beam, the beam being projected through an aperture (29) on an object such as a hand (26), and the function of the light detection unit (#28) is to collect the object Reflected light (hand in the picture).
The controller (31) may be equipped with one or more processors, and the image data generated by the light detection unit will be sent to the controller, and the controller will then perform the processing to reconstruct the 3D map of the object 26. The "3D map" represents the three-dimensional coordinates of the surface of the object, which is derived from the image data. This is referred to as "3D mapping" or "3D reconstruction". The system can be embedded in iPhone, iPad, iPod, Mac and other devices.
The three-dimensional diagram generated by the controller can be applied to a wide range. The image can be transmitted to an output device such as a display screen, displaying a pseudo 3D image of the object. In the above figure, the user's hand or body can be used as the UI interactive interface, and the user's movement is detected by the interactive computer application in the system controller. In the game, it can replace the mouse, the joystick, and the like.
The patent number was 9,400,177, which was applied in Q2 of 2015 and was recently authorized by the US Patent and Trademark Office.
