In the early morning of September 24th, Beijing time, Yingshida Chairman Li Shiqin confirmed yesterday that the company is producing the first notebook computer products of Xiaomi Company in the Chinese market. This product will be shipped in the first half of next year.
Li Shiqin said: "I am optimistic about the business prospects of Xiaomi notebooks because the company has more than 200 million registered smartphone users."
He pointed out that Xiaomi may adopt the same strategy for its notebook products as the smartphone business, which is different from the traditional methods used by other companies to sell servers, desktops and notebooks. He said: "I am not sure whether the smartphone strategy will be used for notebooks, but I expect that Xiaomi's entry into the notebook industry will bring something new to this market."
Li Shiqin said that Inventec, which is the subsidiary of Inventec, which is responsible for assembling Xiaomi's smart phone, is jointly designing and producing Xiaomi's first notebook product at the factory, adding: "We will start shipping in the first or second quarter of next year. Millet notebook."
He also commented on Inventec's near-term business prospects, predicting that the company's next quarter's sales are likely to be flat, or even down, due to the fact that the company's customers have almost no new products. . He said: "Given some of Inventec's customers plan to release new products at the end of the next quarter, the sales contribution from these new products will be limited in the next quarter, but it should make a significant contribution next year."
Inventec President Huang Guobiao said last month that compared with the second quarter of NT$90.62 billion (about $2.75 billion), the company’s current quarter sales will increase significantly, mainly due to business notebooks and smart phones. Support for device and server order growth.
Local media previously reported that Inventec will join the US Fitbit wearable smart device supply chain as a joint design manufacturer. For this speculation, Li Shiqin has neither confirmed nor denied, but he said that the company will begin to ship wearable products for a new customer next year.
Overall, he pointed out that Inventec’s total sales in the second half of this year will still exceed NT$179.99 billion (US$5.45 billion) in the first half of the year. (Tang Feng)
