Mitsubishi Chemical sues the two companies for red phosphor infringement

According to foreign media reports, Japan's Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation (MCC) has filed a patent infringement lawsuit in South Korea, accusing the United States a phosphor company and a South Korean distributor GVP company infringing its patent on red phosphors, will be required to ban both The company imports and sells certain red phosphor products in Korea.

Mitsubishi Chemical said that the problematic product infringed its patent in Korea (Patent No. 816693), which deals with red phosphors. This patent is jointly owned by MCC and the National Institute of Materials Science.

It is understood that the patent of Korean Patent No. 816693 relates to a red phosphor of the nitride type, commonly known as CASN and SCASN. The formula for this phosphor is CaAlSiN3:Eu. The patent also covers LEDs, lighting, displays and other products that use the phosphor.

Mitsubishi Chemical said that many other patents it owns are also associated with CASN and SCASN phosphors. If any of MCC's related patents are infringed, Mitsubishi Chemical will not hesitate to take all appropriate measures to protect the patent.
